Yard Hydrant Made Easy™ Customers Overwhelmingly Satisfied (26% Repeat Customer Rate)

I have been working for MITI for about seven months now, overseeing all aspects of the business. It has been a lot of fun optimizing the manufacturing process, quality control, supply chain, and customer service. I get to work with a great team of directors and employees.

In my seven months here, I have had the opportunity to speak with several Yard Hydrant Made Easy™ owners. A few have had very minor issues such as replacing an o-ring in the pitless adapter or needing a replacement top cap because a 2400-lb cow broke theirs. Of the few issues that I have encountered, there have not been any that were not very easily addressed. Considering the large number of Yard Hydrant Made Easy’s that have been installed over the last eight years, I think this speaks very highly of the integrity of the product.

Of the many customers I have spoken with, I have yet to find a single one who is not satisfied with their Yard Hydrant Made Easy™. Every customer I have talked to has stated, often emphatically, that they are well pleased with their purchase — how it has saved them much labor, expense, and heartache whenever they needed to replace a hydrant. Also, livestock farmers in particular appreciate how the YHME protects the hydrant against corrosion from livestock waste.

When I found out that one of our sales today was going to a repeat customer, I decided to do a little research to see what our repeat-customer rate is. Though we sell our products both online (through our website) and through brick-and-mortar dealers, the only way we can measure repeat end-users is by looking at website sales. Though some of our dealer traffic is no doubt going to repeat customers, we are not able to quantify that.

Looking at online sales alone, 26% of our customers are repeat customers. Considering that the Yard Hydrant Made Easy™ lasts a lifetime (many, we hope), we consider this repeat-customer rate to be a very good number. Our customers keep coming coming back not because they need to replace the original product but because they have truly seen its value and continue to use it whenever they replace a different hydrant or install a new hydrant on their property.
